We each have a workplace of some sort, although a workplace can take on many forms, depending on age, circumstance, career path, etc. In the last two years, I have worked in the classroom, in the job market, behind a cash register, and in a cubicle. Others work in their homes, hospitals, churches, and so on. The commonality between us is that we all work in some setting.

After being in a “state of transition” (i.e. being unemployed) for quite some time, it seems that my feelings and thoughts are still fairly unpredictable. I wish I could say that now I “see the light” and “am fully 100% contented”, but truth be told that’s not me. I struggle. I battle. I wonder. I speculate. I hope.

Child abuse takes on many forms in our current culture. Children are degraded, forgotten, and ignored in many and various ways. Much could be written on actual child abuse – physical, verbal, and sexual. But I’d like to focus on some more subtle forms. And I’m afraid that such forms have become normal in the way that we treat children in our culture.
